LANSING – Mayor Andy Schor announced today the endorsement of Gregory Eaton in his campaign for reelection. A community leader, local business owner, and Lansing native, Eaton is well known in our community not only for his great soul food, but his ability to make Lansing a better place.
“Mayor Schor is about as quality of a man as you can get. He loves his city, he loves helping people, and he does a good job at it,” Eaton said. “I’m supporting Mayor Schor in 2021 because he is committed to making sure small businesses like mine thrive, and that Lansing as a city can continue to make progress.”
“I am grateful for the endorsement of my friend Greg, as I know how impactful he’s been in the lives of so many in Lansing. His commitment to doing the right thing, his life-long value for hard work, and his passion for helping others is something to strive for every day. As Mayor, I’ve worked closely with the Lansing Chamber of Commerce to ensure local businesses, like Gregory’s Soul Food, can succeed and have a seat at the table,” Schor replied.
Mayor Schor has worked hard to support small businesses throughout his tenure, increasing his efforts during the pandemic. He partnered with the Lansing Economic Development Corporation to offer an additional $400,000 in grants for struggling businesses, and is working with LEAP to offer an additional $2.5 million. He offered a financial literacy officer through the city and is working to convert some one-way streets to two-ways to increase small business options.
