LANSING - Today marks the beginning of Mayor Schor’s Ingham County Commissioner endorsement week. Commissioner Tennis, who has served the City of Lansing as the representative of District 5 of Ingham County since 2007, kicks the week off. He is also a  Chairperson of the Human Services Committee and member of the Finance Committee.

Mayor Schor and Commissioner Tennis have worked in collaboration to bring forward numerous projects for the City of Lansing, including addressing the covid-19 pandemic and supporting parks and recreation.

“Mayor Schor demonstrates effective leadership and compassion for the people of Lansing. He is a dedicated community leader and is attentive to every resident's need for safety, equality, and prosperity. While working closely with Mayor Schor in our efforts during the pandemic, I experienced first hand his character. He’s loyal to his citizens and pushes for what’s right. This dedication extends beyond just Lansing, as he works alongside County Commissioners to benefit the region,” Commissioner Tennis said.

“I thank Commissioner Tennis for his endorsement. It’s been an honor to work alongside him to help Lansing residents,” said Mayor Schor.  “Together, we have tackled some of the most demanding problems facing our constituents throughout the years, and especially during the pandemic. I look forward to continuing to work with such experienced representatives as Commissioner Tennis to further our city and county strength.”

Commissioner Tennis is a Democrat and represents parts of Lansing.  He is one of many Ingham County Commissioners to endorse Mayor Schor. Mayor Schor has a growing list of endorsers. He is joined by Senator Gary Peters, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, nearly a dozen labor unions, small business owner Gregory Eaton, former Mayor Tony Benavides, and many other neighborhood leaders, Lansing and regional elected officials, small business owners, and others. Schor also recently finished the release of his vision for Lansing’s future, which will be updated throughout the campaign trail.
