LANSING – Mayor Andy Schor announced today the endorsement of Kat Tyler in his reelection campaign. As President, Tyler represents the North Town Neighborhood Association as well as her community.
“I will be supporting Andy Schor's reelection for Mayor this year. I believe he is the best candidate and will continue to serve Lansing and it's residents in a forward manner,” Tyler said.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement from longtime North Lansing leader, Kat Tyler,” Schor replied. “Kat has led the Northtown neighborhood for many years and has made a tremendous impact in Lansing. I have appreciated working with her, and her passion for the north side. I look forward to another four year working with her to grow the north side and all of Lansing!"
Strong Neighborhoods have been a priority for Mayor Schor in his first term, with the creation of a Department of Neighborhoods and Citizen Engagement (DNCE) to strengthen neighborhoods while fostering citizen engagement. The effort has resulted in neighborhood summits, a citizens academy, significant investment in parks, and many other amenities and services for neighbors to enjoy. Neighborhoods are one of the five planks of Mayor Schor’s Vision for Lansing plan, and working with neighborhood leaders is an important way to coordinate and continue to improve neighborhoods. His plan can be viewed at www.andyschor.com.
In addition to neighborhood leaders, Schor has announced endorsements and support from small business leaders, labor organizations, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and US Senator Gary Peters. Schor has also received endorsement from local leaders such as Dale Schrader, Patty Farhat, and Mike Redding, and will roll out with one more endorsement this week.
