LANSING – Mayor Andy Schor announced today the endorsement of Patty Farhat in his reelection campaign. A long time community activist and neighborhood leader southwest Lansing, Patty joins several other neighborhood leaders in their support of the Mayor. 

“I am supporting Andy Schor for Mayor because he is ethical, honest, and concerned for the citizens of Lansing,” Patty Farhat said. “I have known and supported Andy since he was a County Commissioner, when he was in the Michigan House of Representatives, and now in the Mayor’s office. You won’t find a better candidate who cares about our city as much as he does!” 

“It is an honor to receive this endorsement from Lansing legend and activist Patty Farhat,” Mayor Schor replied. “Patty has served Lansing with distinction on our Police Board of Commissioners, as a neighborhood leader, and as a leader for working people. Working with Patty has been a tremendous asset in growing Lansing, and I am excited to partner with her to ensure that the city of Lansing will thrive in the future.” 

Strong Neighborhoods have been a priority for Mayor Schor in his first term, with the creation of a Department of Neighborhoods and Citizen Engagement (DNCE) to strengthen neighborhoods while fostering citizen engagement. The effort has resulted in neighborhood summits, a citizens academy, significant investment in parks, and many other amenities and services for neighbors to enjoy. In addition to neighborhood leaders, Schor has announced endorsements and support from small business leaders, labor organizations, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and US Senator Gary Peters. Schor has also received endorsements from local leaders, such as Dale Schrader, and there are more community spokespeople who will be announced in the upcoming few days.
